Kitchens used to be a hidden room inside of a house, but that has changed over the last decade and interior design has taken over, creating swoon-worthy spaces that deserve to be in display.
Inside of the well-known “open concept” trend, we often see floors that extend from living and dining areas into the kitchen, with materials that can vary from hardwood to microcement to hydraulic mosaic tiles. The same effect can be achieved in the walls, by using paint, wallpaper or exposed bricks, and bringing the whole room together.
Another very interesting and modern idea is using the same stone from the countertops on walls and other surfaces, which can set a space apart, like the kitchen, and create a unified look and a comforting feel throughout the room.
